Stretch film is used for both domestic and industrial use. It is a package used to protect and unify palletized cargos and many other products, securing the process of handling and transport, protecting them against violation, dust and moisture.
Its application is wide, being used in ceramic tiles industries, soft drinks, taps, diapers industries, paper and cellulose, cargo handling (road, air and sea transport), in agriculture and also in domestic use.
The Stretch film represents the best technical and economic solution for cargo palletizing and unifying, offering the best cost-benefit relation, being a recyclable and non-toxic product as well.
GDM’s Stretch Film is processed with 100% virgin PELBD resins in a flat matrix machine that allows the production of structures of up to 7 (seven( layers, that provides special characteristics when compared to films produced in monolayer machines.
Stretch film’s main characteristics are:
GDM‘s polypropylene film is used in the production of printed and/or laminated smooth packages, destined to textile products and food packaging, such as: pasta, cookies, candies, chocolate.
Its main goal is to pack and protect the products from contamination, losses, environmental issues, as well as securing its transport and distribution.
It is processed in flat matrix equipments (Cast) that allow the production of mono-layered or co-extruded structures in up to 5 layers. The co-extruded film may be produced in different structures, presenting many advantages for the final package.
Good optical properties (gloss and transparency);
Resistance to oils and fats;
Low permeability to water steam;
Low initial sealing temperature;
Superficial treatment in one of the sides for printing and/or lamination.
Produced from low density linear polyethylene resin through a co-extrusion cast process from 3 to 7 layers, the stretch film is used primarily for protecting and unitizing palletized loads, ensuring the integrity of the packaged products during storage and transportation, avoiding the violation of the product, contamination, and the product contact with moisture or dust. This product is available in manual and automatic versions and it has the following features:
- High mechanical resistance (traction and stretching);
- High handle power (grip); Good optical properties (brightness and transparency);
- High puncture resistance (increasing the resistance to sharp corners);
- High load retention (compression).
As a practical and innovative solution, this product was developed by GDM Plásticos without the cardboard cartridge, which in this case is replaced by a reusable plastic applicator, providing much more convenience and efficiency in the palletizing process. The Non-Cartridge Stretch Film, which is available for manual and automatic application, allows excellent ergonomics, reduction of the space used for storage and transport, facilitates the verification of the invoiced net weight and above all, drastically reduces the disposal and consequently the environmental impact.
